How to Be the Boss of Your Own Life in 2020

Fed-up with being at the mercy of circumstances, events, and other people in your life? Here are six steps that take very little time, and hardly any effort, that will automatically make you the boss of your own life for 2020.

Starting with Step One, follow through, one step at a time, to give yourself the empowered edge — to get what you want from 2020.

Step One

Right now, plan a morning routine that will give you the very best start to each day, and commit to it. Write it down, and put it next to your bed, where you’ll see it, first thing in the morning.

Here’s an example:

  1. As soon as you’re aware you’re awake, think of something or someone you love (it needs to be someone or something you only have positive feelings for — no missing, longing, worry, regret, or guilt, for example. It can be a person, animal, activity, or place, for which you feel only love and appreciation) or, your favorite color. Imagine holding that person, animal, place, or activity in your arms, in a hug. Or imagine being surrounded by that beautiful color. This will trigger your brain to start producing “feel-good” chemicals like endorphins, serotonin, and oxytocin, first thing in the morning — starting your day in an empowered state.
